In today's economy, middle class families need all the relief we can get. That's why I've just proposed a package of tax cuts focused directly on the middle class - not big corporations or Wall Street billionaires.

In Congress, these are the tax cuts I'll fight for:

A $1000-per-year tax cut for middle class families

Permanent property tax relief

Tax refunds on care for children and aging parents

A tax cut for college tuition

Expanded tax breaks for homeowners

An improved Child Tax Credit

Expanded marriage penalty relief

A permanent fix for the Alternative Minimum Tax

We have an unusual situation in this race for Congress: A Democrat who's calling for tax cuts and a Republican with a clear record of raising taxes.

My opponent voted for two of the largest tax increases in Ohio's history while he was serving in the state legislature under Governor Taft. He even voted to raise the state gas tax.

We need new leaders in Washington who will fight for tax cuts for the middle class, not tax hikes.
